Jason Anderson, P.E.

Jason has a long history of experience providing detailed shop drawing level designs for fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Most of his efforts have been in the design of active fire protection systems like automatic fire sprinklers, fire pumps, high-expansion foam and standpipes. With a wide range of projects in his portfolio, from single family homes to high-rise buildings, Jason has the experience and knowledge to handle just about any project type. His experience in both the private sector and government funded projects, gives him the knowledge of a wide variety of codes and standards and how they are applied to the design of these systems.

Starting his career as a designer of mechanical building systems, allowed Jason to develop a solid understanding of multiple systems within building construction which helps him coordinate the fire protection system design with other building trades. This knowledge has helped when working with the owner, architect and other design professionals to provide a system design that fits within the building constraints and meets the aesthetic requirements of the owner. This includes items from coordinating details for concealment of piping installation to selecting the finish and type of fire sprinkler heads for each situation, while still meeting the applicable National Fire Protection Association standards.

Each project provides its own challenges. Whether it is designing a fire sprinkler system for the University of Alaska Seawolf Sports Arena which included curved glass walls that angled in the vertical plane or the fire sprinkler system retrofit for an existing 324,000 sq ft high school in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jason has provided a system design which minimizes the visual impact on the building while providing the life safety protection necessary. He feels that fire protection systems are something that the building occupants should not be aware of until they are needed to help save the property and the lives of the occupants.
