Lasting solutions for Federal facilities.

Coffman has decades of experience meeting the special needs, requirements, and practices of the U.S. military and other federal agencies. Our ongoing work with various federal agencies allows us to have a thorough, working knowledge of the current and continuously evolving standards associated with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) projects. We are proficient with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) documents, various agency-specific handbooks and guidelines, the Uniform Federal Guide Specifications (UFGS), along with various DoD specific software like SpecsIntact and Projnet.

Our military project experience includes multidiscipline engineering services for the renovation and new construction of hangars, barracks, chapels, education and training facilities, offices, command centers, housing, clinics, company headquarters, fire stations, simulator buildings, company operations facilities, and hospitals. Coffman has performed these projects in locations across the United States and throughout the Pacific Rim, including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, South Korea, Japan, Wake Island, Diego Garcia, and a multitude of other locations. Coffman’s robust experience is not limited solely to design: we have participated in the preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, and we have experience in construction administration and commissioning activities.

Coffman has provided services on projects and contracts for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), the United States Air Force (USAF), US Department of State and the United States Coast Guard (USCG). We also regularly work with other Federal entities, including the General Services Administration (GSA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Parks Services (NPS), the United States Forest Service (USFS), the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and others. We have significant experience with the current, and continuously evolving, Department of Defense standards.

Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) is a high priority on military and Federal installations, especially at overseas locations. Our engineering consultants are very familiar with current and evolving DoD standards for AT/FP. Through national seminars, in-house training, and client implementations, we have gained a solid working knowledge of current anti-terrorism design standards and their real-world application.
