Amazon Fulfillment Center

When Amazon decided to open their next fulfillment center in Spokane, Washington, it was big news and an even bigger site to develop. Coffman was brought on to provide civil and site electrical engineering, as well as land surveying for the Amazon Fulfillment Center that included the development of a 79-acre site. The multi-story building has a footprint of approximately 639,000 sf, with a total warehouse area of approximately 2,556,000 sf. The facility consists of 1,876 automobile parking spaces, 309 trailer parking spaces, and truck shipping and receiving areas. Off-site improvements included the design of public road upgrades, transit facilities, and sewer and water main extensions to the project site. Coffman provided consulting services for the site development, including site plan layout, erosion and sediment control, earthwork, grading, stormwater management, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, semi-truck loading bays, sanitary sewer, fire suppression, water system, power and communications, and site lighting improvements.
