Sharp Santee Medical Office Building

The Sharp Rees-Stealy Santee Medical Center now brings convenient care to growing East San Diego County. Coffman provided design-build structural and fire protection engineering services for the new 3-story, 86,000 sf HCAI 3 medical office building and a surface parking lot in Santee, California. The facility consolidates multiple medical specialties into one destination for residents in east San Diego County. The turnkey project includes three floors of clinical spaces and centralizes many of the healthcare services that residents previously had to travel to multiple facilities to receive. The facility offers primary and specialty care including urgent care, radiology, pharmacy, pediatrics, OBGYN, internal medicine, optical, ophthalmology, dermatology, and physical therapy. The project overcame major permitting delays and COVID-19 pandemic-related challenges to complete the project on schedule.

The project was honored with an Award of Merit from the Design-Build Institute of America in the Healthcare category in 2020.
