The Naches Valley School District’s elementary school was built in the 1950’s, lacked air conditioning, and only had two electrical outlets per room. That’s where we come in. Coffman provided engineering for the new and much improved school. The building was designed with energy efficiency in mind and utilizes solar panels along the roof. Students and teachers are much more comfortable in their new classrooms, allowing for a more conducive learning environment.
Coffman provided structural and electrical services for the new 66,500 sf, $22.85 million elementary school in Naches, Washington. Structural systems include prefabricated wood roof trusses, wood bearing/shear walls, incorporating mechanical spaces and catwalk systems within the attic and clerestory space, and a glue laminated beam roof. Electrical design included normal power, emergency generator, site lighting, interior lighting, telephone/data, intercom/clock, classroom audio/video, fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.
