In designing this LEED Gold-certified educational center, Coffman mirrored the mindfulness of the environment fostered within the building itself. We integrated the building’s envelope design, mechanical systems, and lighting to use at least 30% less energy and water than the required minimums. At least 12.5% of the building’s energy is generated by a solar array, and more than 40% of its materials are manufactured locally.
This project received a 2008 AIA Spokane Merit Award; LEED Gold Certified.
